1. What are cookies?

They are widely used to make websites work efficiently, remember your preferences, and provide information to the site operator. Cookies may be set by the website you are visiting ("first-party cookies") or by third parties ("third-party cookies").
Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, and pixel tags. This policy covers all such technologies.

Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies are essential for the Service to function. They enable core features such as authentication, security, and session management. You cannot opt out of these cookies as the Service would not work without them.

Analytics cookies (only with your permission)
The website at handeapp.co.uk uses Google Analytics 4 to measure how visitors find and use our pages. When it runs, Google Analytics collects technical details (pages viewed, approximate location derived from your IP address, device and browser type, referring source) and sets cookies that include a device identifier, so your browser can be recognised across visits to this site. We never link these measurements to your name, your enquiry answers or your contact details. Google Analytics is switched off until you accept it in the cookie banner. If you reject non-essential cookies, or make no choice, no Google Analytics code is loaded and no analytics cookies are set. When you accept, the following first-party analytics cookies are set on handeapp.co.uk:

We use Google Analytics for measurement: counting page views and how many demo enquiries are successfully submitted. The resulting conversion counts are imported into our own Google Ads account to measure which of our adverts lead to demo enquiries — that is advertising measurement, and it is the only advertising-related use of this data. This website itself sets no advertising cookies, does no remarketing and sends no personalised-advertising signals to Google (the ad signals in Google's consent settings are permanently denied), and this data is not used to target adverts at you.
A note on advertising clicks, describing what we actually observed: the page address that Analytics receives includes any parameters an advertising link added. In our own testing with a simulated advertising click, a click identifier present in the landing page address was transmitted to Google as part of that address, even with the advertising consent signals denied. What Google's systems then do with that information, and how Google Ads attributes conversions under our consent settings, is defined by Google's published documentation and its own processing — we make no claim beyond that, and we check what our Google Ads account actually reports once measurement is connected.
Withdrawing consent (see Section 5) switches Google Analytics off immediately: on the page you are viewing, the analytics library's ability to send anything to Google is disabled, and no Google Analytics code loads on any future visit while your choice stands. The analytics cookies listed above are deleted at the same moment. Measurements already sent cannot be recalled.
3. Third-party services and cookies
The only third-party analytics service used on the website is Google Analytics 4, and it only runs after you accept it in the cookie banner (see Section 2). We do not load third-party advertising cookies or social media tracking cookies.
The demo enquiry form on our website is handled by Formspree, a third-party form-processing service. When you submit that form, the details you typed are sent to Formspree, which forwards the enquiry to us by email. Formspree does not set cookies on your browser as part of this process. 4. Local storage and session storage
In addition to cookies, the Hande platform uses browser local storage and session storage for:
- Authentication tokens: Securely stored in memory/session storage for API authentication
- Draft content: Unsaved form data (such as daily log entries in progress) may be temporarily stored in local storage to prevent data loss
- UI state: Filter selections, table sort preferences, and similar interface settings
This data is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to third parties.
5. Managing your cookies
Browser settings
You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. The method varies by browser:
- Chrome: Settings > Privacy and security > Cookies and other site data
- Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences > Privacy > Manage Website Data
- Edge: Settings > Cookies and site permissions > Cookies and site data
Impact of disabling cookies
If you disable strictly necessary cookies, you will not be able to log in to or use the Hande platform. Disabling functional cookies may affect your user experience (for example, the platform may not remember your preferred property or display settings). Disabling analytics cookies will not affect your use of the Service.
Consent and changing your choice
When you first visit our website, a cookie banner lets you accept or reject analytics cookies with two clearly labelled buttons: "Accept analytics cookies" and "Reject non-essential cookies". Until you choose, Google Analytics stays switched off and no cookies at all are set. Making a choice sets one cookie, cookie_consent, which stores the decision itself.
You can change your mind at any time: every page has a "Cookie preferences" control in its footer, and this page has one in its footer too, which reopens the same banner. Choosing "Reject non-essential cookies" after previously accepting switches Google Analytics off straight away — on the page you are currently viewing as well as future visits — and deletes the Google Analytics cookies from your browser. Other tabs you already have open follow suit as soon as you return to them, and no enquiry made in any tab is ever counted in analytics once consent has been withdrawn. Accepting again restores measurement. Rejecting or withdrawing consent never affects how the website works, including submitting the demo enquiry form.
6. Do Not Track
Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) setting. There is no industry-wide standard for how websites should respond to DNT signals. We do not currently respond to DNT signals, but we do not engage in cross-site tracking or personalised advertising. Consent-based conversion counts may be imported into our own Google Ads account to measure campaign performance.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was most recently revised. Material changes will be communicated via our website or by email.
